Description:
Here is a nice example of a Modernist pair of mixed metal (brass & copper) Scroll candlesticks made by one of the foremost master craftsman of Mexico, Hector Aguilar. One does not encounter his objects as often as his jewelry as they were made in much smaller numbers. This pair of candlesticks would be the highlight of a table settings. An example of this set is pictured on page 120 of the book "Silver Master of Mexico". These candlesticks were made in either mixed metal or sterling silver (the silver one being much scarcer but also made later, circa 1950's).
