2252 - Horacio de la Parra, Mexican
c. 1940-1945
Signature: "Mexico Silver Parra"

This is an astoundingly beautiful Modernist 940 silver (higher grade than sterling as was most Mexican silver produced before 1945) and bezel set amethyst stones necklace. Twenty two amethyst stone cabochons of about half an inch are set on this necklace. It fits very comfortably on one's neck even though it is fairly heavy (Its weight is 106 grams). Simply splendid!    

2233 - Lennart Haglund, Swedish
c. 1956
Signature: "Lhaglund, Sterling, KLH, Castle mark (stockholm stamp), 3 Swedish crown logo, S in hexagon, F9 (year 1956)".

This is an abstract sterling silver broche with one small bezel set moonstone made by the Lennart Haglund company in Sweden. One would be extremely pleased by the simplicity, yet refined beauty of this brooch. A good example of Swedish modernist design.

This is a nice pair of handmade Modernist sterling silver candlesticks produced by Juventino Lopez Reyes in Mexico. Very stylished, yet very functional, this pair will light up any room. The candlesticks must not have been used very often as they are quite clean. Juventino Lopez Reyes design were always very crisply executed and modernist in design.

2228 - Hector Aguilar, Mexico
c. 1940-1945
Signature: "Taxco, Conjoined HA in circle, 940"

What a spectacular and whimsical broche!  It is a Modernist 940 (higher grade than sterling) silver "Winking Cat's head" broche with long whiskers made by the Mexican artist Hector Aguilar in Taxco (Tasco). Mexican silver used to be of a higher grade than European or American one.
